Darchei Shalom Project

Darchei Shalom is a residential facility for teenage boys who have fallen through the cracks of Israeli society and have been rescued from the streets. These boys shine when they find meaningful work and hands-on learning opportunities. The location of this facility provides a unique opportunity to promote harmony and good relations by having this struggling religious population share the fruits of their labors with diverse neighbors.

Darchei Shalom's chef would like to improve his program by enabling the residents to grow their own healthy, bug-free, pesticide free produce, reducing costs while maintaining the high culinary standards that he already employs.

The cost of this project is 150,000 nis ($41,000), which will cover a greenhouse, hydroponic equipment, educational support to implement SUR curriculum and materials.
